How To Slay Sunday
You know that thing on Sunday where you try and get your entire life together in a 12-hour span well, I’m here to help you make it actually happen. Introducing a Sunday night routine into your life will set you up to slay the upcoming week.
Here are 6 tips that will help you slay Sunday:
1. Plan, Plan Plan
What are your goals this week? What MUST you get done? Where does each task fall on the priority list? Are there specific meetings and or projects you need to prepare for? Whatever is on your agenda, take the time the plan out what needs to be accomplished to avoid an overload of stress and rush to get things checked off the list.
2. Get Scrubbing
Starting the week off with a clean space should becoming a part of your weekly routine. I get it, scrubbing your toilet may not be the most glamorous thing in the world but it needs to be done. Grab the Clorox, put on a playlist and give your place a fresh cleaning. This would also be a prime opportunity to throw a load of laundry in, don’t start off your week with dirty underwear – ok?
3. Turn On The Oven
Time to get cookin, sista! A bulletproof way to stay healthy and happy throughout the week is to have meals prepared before Monday makes an appearance. Unless you are superwoman, you don’t need to go all out and make lunch for every single day of the week but making small strides will make a big difference. For example, carve out time on Sunday evenings to cut vegetables, wash fruit, and prepare base meal items.
4. What’s A Girl To Wear?
Somedays, picking an outfit is harder than solving a rubrics cube. It may sound tedious but laying out your outfit the night before is a turning point for a less hectic morning. Come Monday AM, it’s one less thing you have to think about plus you will feel better since you weren’t in a mad rush to throw on whatever you pulled out your drawers first.
5. Set A Tech Curfew
If you stop to think about how much time we spend on our devices it’s almost sickening. Before a new week with endless responsibilities comes knocking at your door, give your brain (and your eyes) a moment to detox from technology. A “tech curfew” means, just that. After a set time that means no phone, no email, no ipads, etc. Give yourself a time period before you shut your eyes to wind down without a bright screen in your face. Oh and in case your mother didn’t tell you, do NOT be late for curfew – the repercussions aren’t worth it!
6. Sunday’s Are For….
REST! Although #SundayFunday bottomless mimosa specials may tell you otherwise, Sunday’s were actually created for rest. Regardless of what you do during the day, clear your Sunday evenings to spend time with loved ones or treat yourself to a long bath and a good book.
