Must Read Tips For Glowing Healthy Skin
Good morning, girlfriends! This post is long overdue so, let’s dive right in.
Actually, hold on...
As you skim through the below please remind yourself of a few things:
- Everyone's skin has different needs and wants
- I am NOT claiming to be a skin guru
- What may work for me and my skin may not work for you and your skin
- If you have any further questions or want to ask me about a specific product, please feel free to send me a DM on Instagram: @millennialimiss
Ok, grab your facewash and let’s do this.
FROM THE INSIDE OUT
I’m a firm believer that what you put inside your body is what reflects on the outside. When it comes to drinking enough water, I am lunatic. Why? Well, for a lot of reasons but one being keeping your skin hydrated is key. For me personally, my skin is not a fan of dairy or an overload of sugar so I tend to, for the most part, stay away from those foods. If you have not experimented with adding and or eliminating specific foods from your diet – give it a try, in moderation.
Across the board these foods tend to bring skin benefits:
Nuts
Salmon
Carrots
Spinach
Green tea
Bell peppers
Dark chocolate
Pomegranates
Sunflower seeds
Taking the time to learn what foods your body processes best for glowing healthy skin can be one of the best gifts you can give yourself!
THE MAGIC WORKERS
To be real, it has taken me years to figure out a balance of what works and what doesn’t. I have racked up the credit card bill trying products across the board only to see no change. There was a point in my life that I was saving every single penny to make sure I could afford a monthly facial only to realize that even though they felt great and it was an hour of mental relaxation basic facials were actually not what my skin was craving. Throwing money down the drain for skincare can be an incredibly defeating feeling. The below are items that I currently use in my daily skin care routine OR products that I recommend:
*each product can be added to your card by simply clicking the shop-pable link
*I do my best to keep my skin care items budget friendly however there are items that I tend to splurge on because, to me, it’s worth it.
FACH WASH, MOISTERIZER, ETC.
Cetaphil OR Obaji Nurderm Foaming Gel
*highly recommend a gentle everyday cleanser
