5 Out Of The Box Ways To Take Care Of Yourself
Put yourself at the top of your to do list every single day and everything else will fall into place.
Some may find that motto overly selfish but I’d like to pass you a different set of lens to look through. If you aren’t personally at your best, then how would you expect the things and or people around you to be at theirs? Your vibe and energy is bound to spill over to your relationships, work environment and or daily task so why not excuse the best version of yourself.
Yes, brewing a hot cup of tea, treating yourself to a cozy night in and watching Lifetime movies will always do the trick. But, for the days where you’re in need of a little more here are 5 out of the box ways to take care of yourself:
1. Organize Your Desktop
Imagine how life changing it would be to have your computer life precisely organized into designated folders. If the pure thought of that doesn’t utterly thrill you, think of it this way …. the less time it takes for you to find that one specific file means you can get the job done quicker which in turn means you can finish work sooner which means you’re one step closer to walking into your home and taking your bra off. Sounds like a win win to me. Click here for tips on how to set up a workspace, anywhere.
2. Paging Dr. McSteamy
Ok, a girl can dream. No one looks forward to a doctor poking at them here or there or asking a zillion questions about your health history but taking care of your body should fall very high on your self-care to do list. Book the appointment. Show up. Check it off the list. You’d rather stay on stop on your health then deal with issues down the road – am I right or am I right?
3. Toss Or Keep
You can’t fight me on this one because it’s a life fact that cleaning out your closet instantly gives you more mental and physical space. Put a side an hour or two (depending on how much of a hoarder you are) and decide what you’re keeping or tossing. For more tips on how to detox your closet read THIS
4. Meal Prep
You know all those times that you’ve walked in the front door, starving, and wish that you had something – anything – to eat for dinner? Well, pre-cooking your meals can help. This will not only help fight your bitchy hangry-ness but will also help you save money, time, and will stop you from eating the first thing you can grab from the pantry. If being in the kitchen gives you anxiety, then you’re speaking my language. My best tip? Invest in a crockpot. My mom says “you seriously can’t mess anything up” so, here’s to hoping she’s right!
5. Your Choice
You can take my advice for what it’s worth but you know yourself best so take a moment to ask yourself – what makes me feel like I took care of myself today? Is it reading a book before bed instead of stalking a stranger on IG? Then do that. Is it going to buy new underwear because it makes you feel sexy? Then do that. Is it going for a mid-day walk because you love to feel the sun on your shoulders? Then do that.
You deserve it,
