9 Unique Ways To Cleanse Your Life

9 Unique Ways To Cleanse Your Life

Happy New Year my friend !

I know what you may be thinking  .  .  . how cliché it is to talk about a cleanse with the change of a calendar year. Before you’re tempted to click out of this post, stick with me because I promise I’m not going to talk a juice cleanse but rather dive in deeper and discuss valuable ways to cleanse your overall being.

Here are 9 simple ways you can cleanse your life this year and beyond:

DESIGNATE A TECH FREE SPACE
Think about how much of your day you’re surrounded by technology. Like, reallyyyyy think about it. Pretty wild, huh? From phones to computers to tv’s to ipads to this device to that device – it’s a lot. Since we rely on technology for our jobs, pure convenience and for entertainment purposes – it’s imperative that you designate a tech free space in your home. At first it may seem like a chore but I promise once you get into the groove it will feel like second nature. Not sure where to start? I suggest your dining room table or your workout space. Those are two great places to unplug and give your undivided attention to the people / task at hand.

SIMPLIFY YOUR DIET
Here’s the thing, you don’t need to follow the hottest fad diet to get on a healthy track.Instead, simplifying your diet will work wonders. Rule of thumb: your grocery cart should be full of mainly fresh produce and whole foods instead of processed foods. Less frozen meals, less ingredients you can’t pronounce, less sauces and dressings. Fueling your body with grade A fuel will surely detox your life for the better. If you’re looking for a nutritious and delicious recipe book that won’t keep you in the kitchen for hours – check out this one. Robby and I have been loving the meals and love the quick prep even more.

FINANCIAL BREAK DOWN
You work your ass off for your paycheck so don’t carelessly throw those hard earned dolla dolla bills out the window. Set aside some time to thoroughly comb through each financial pillar of your lifestyle. Once you have a full breakdown of incoming money verses outgoing expenses, you’ll be able to cleanse out the unnecessary spending and rack up your savings. SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX
Ah yes, social media apps.
Could you imagine life without them?
…… Me either.

I’m not sure about you but I feel like I have a forever love / hate relationship with all those little squares on my phone. To ensure we are only allowing productive and positive energy into our life this year, do yourself a favor and cleanse your social media. For starters, turn off your notifications. Yes, I’m serious. Go ahead and do it, right now. Once you check that box then I’d suggest going through the accounts that you follow and ask yourself a few basic questions: do they provide you entertainment? Value? A lighthearted escape? If yes, that’s wonderful. If they spark anger, jealousy or any other negative emotion then take advantage of the mute and or unfollow button. Remember, there is a big beautiful life beyond the device in your hand so don’t let it control your every move. If you grab your phone first thing in the morning and scroll before your eyes are barely open, I highly suggest reading this. And in case you’re in the need of a reminder of what is important beyond social media, then this blog post is for you.

CLOSET CLEANOUT
Keep. Donate. Trash.

Yup, you know where this is headed – it’s time to clean out your closet. I’m talking full on dive into every corner, every drawer and go through every hanger to ensure what is taking up space has a purpose or sparks joy. These five steps will ensure your closet is looking better then new by the time you’re done with it!

DECLUTTER YOUR MIND
What I’m about to suggest may make you uncomfortable and if it does then that’s even more of a reason that you need to do it:

Sit in silence.

I’m talking straight up sit there, without your phone in hand or without the tv on, and purely be one with your thoughts. Your brain juggles a lot every single day and needs a moment to recharge so pour yourself a cup of tea, light a candle and sit on the couch. If you time on your side, then sit there for as long as you can. If you have a window or two minutes, then sister you enjoy those 90 seconds to their full capacity. If you’re looking for other ways to destress here are some lovely suggestions.

PRIORITIZE YOUR SCHEDULE
Say it with me: my time is valuable.

Knowing exactly where your time is going is key. As a new week approaches take some time to asses where and how each hour is being spent. Once you can put all the pieces of your schedule out onto the table, reassess what pillars are truly worth your time. Learn how to say no so you are able to focus more on what deserves your energy. Oh and if you don’t’ already have a planner and or a calendar system in place, get on that – ASAP.

SLEEP IS EVERYTHING
If talked about sleep 110 times before and I will continue to do so because it is that important to your overall wellbeing. While you may not think of sleep as something you cleanse, I’m here to tell you otherwise! A few ways to detox your sleep routine is to start by unplugging early. Yup, that means no aimlessly scrolling under the covers for hours on end. Ensuring your sleep environment is on point and sticking to a schedule are all great ways to get your sleep on track and wake up feeling ready to conquer the day.

SWEAT IT OUT
No literally, sweat it out. A real way to detox is to sweat out toxins from your body. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I am consistently hyping you up to get your body moving. There so many incredible benefits to breaking a sweat on the daily and riding yourself of toxins so your body doesn’t store them is surely one of them. Set a wellness goal and work towards it – each and every day.

How do you plan to cleanse your life?
I’d love for you to share your suggestions below!
See you soon on Instagram stories :)

Love a detox,
Chels
